PSU donated to help victims in Nepal.

       On June 26, 2015 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chusak Limsakul, President of Prince of Songkla University (PSU), together with Dr. Sumana Laparojkit, Assistant President of Organisational Relations and the administration of the PSU Faculty of Medicine presented monetary donations to help the earthquake victims in Nepal. The donations were presented to H.E. Mr. Khaga Nath Adhikari, the Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, at the Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok. The donations were collected from generous PSU university staff, students and alumni in amount of 604,629.70 Baht, in addition to a 1,000,000 Baht donation raised by the PSU Faculty of Medicine through the charity event "Walk & Spin Rally for Nepal" On the same day, the administration of the PSU Faculty of Medicine also made a generous donation of 1,000,000 Baht through the Thai Red Cross Society in support of "Red Cross for Disaster".

       Furthermore, at an earlier event on May 27, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pattara Aiyarak, Vice President for Organisational Relations and Information Management presented a 400,000 Baht donation on behalf of PSU. M. L. Panadda Diskul, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, received the donation on behalf of the Government of Thailand.

       Since the earthquake in Nepal on April 25, 2015 all sector from 5 campus of PSU have organized various activities for raising the donations to help the victims such as opening "PSU for Disaster Relief" bank account to receive donations. The cycling 30 kilometers of the Faculty of Law together with Alumni, the charity event "Walk & Spin Rally for Nepal" of Faculty of Medicine, contribution from several sectors such as the Faculty of Natural Resources and Faculty of Economics at the green market, the donation event by, Surat Thani Campus together with the amateur radio volunteer rescue clubs, the Charity Mini Concert, organized charity fair of PSU Student Administrative Organization and etc. In addition, international alumni of PSU graduate program in Epidemiology to join the rescue mission in Nepal by joining as a group of operator's medical assistance with the disease control officers of Yunnan province, China.
