ASEAN Economic Community Camp 2014

Twenty two students from various PSU faculties, accompanied by three PSU International Affairs officers, participated in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Camp 2014 from April 6-11, 2014. The camp was held in Vietnam, in order for the participating students to learn more about other ASEAN member country’s traditions and culture.

As a preparation for this notable trip, PSU students and staff assisted to a presentation titled “ASEAN Community Alert!“, kindly made by Ms. Porntip Kanjananiyot, Executive Director of Thailand-US Educational Foundation (Fulbright Thailand) on June 4.

During the camp, students traveled to three famous cities in Vietnam, namely Ho Chi Minh City, Muine and Dalat. On April 11, all participants made a study visit to Vietnam National University (VNU), where they could exchange knowledge and experiences with Vietnames students. The PSU students enjoyed meeting and chatting with their VNU new friends, as well as exchanging information regarding both countries customs and way of life. They also made presentations about PSU, Thai Culture, and Tourism in Thailand for their Vietnames friends.

Moreover, the trip gave the chance to all participants to try traditional Vietnamese costumes and learn more about the Vietnamese culture.
