A PSU delegation including two staff members and 10 students, visited Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) from October 13-26, 2013. This visit was part of a Cultural Exchange Program under the MOU between GDUT and PSU. The PSU delegates were warmly welcomed by Prof. Zhang Li, GDUT Vice President, and her team.
The visiting staff and students had the chance to experience the rich Chinese culture through many enjoyable activities, such as introduction to the Chinese traditional hand-made mascots, the ceremony of making traditional Chinese tea called Kung-fu tea art, Chinese calligraphy and painting, paper cutting, and Tai-Ji martial arts. PSU representatives also had the chance to meet and exchange knowledge and experiences with their colleagues from the schools of Politics and Law, Architecture and Urban Planning, Art Design, and Continual Education, and to visit impressive GDUT facilities such as the Science Centre, administration and teaching buildings, and the library.
On October 21, PSU and GDUT students demonstrated the beauty of the Thai and Chinese traditions through an amazing Cultural Performance. The PSU students presented four Thai traditional dances and their Chinese friends performed Chinese traditional dances and songs accompanied by traditional instruments.
This visit greatly benefited the PSU and GDUT students, who exchanged and learned about the traditions and culture of both countries, as well as about the academic environment and study approaches at both universities.
