On October 25, 2012, PSU received Dr. Handy Williamson, Vice Provost for International Programs and Director of the Confucius Institute; and Dr. Wen Ouyang, Co-Director of the Confucius Institute; from the University of Missouri (MU), USA. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ram Yamsaengsung, Assistant President for International Affairs together with lecturers from the PSU Pattani Campus—who are also MU alumni—welcomed them. After a short meeting and discussions with PSU representatives, our guests visited the PSU Pattani Campus and its Faculty of Education.

The cooperation between PSU and MU began in 1979. Since then, five Memoranda of Understanding between the two universities have been signed, several PSU lecturers have furthered their studies at MU, and many PSU and MU students and academics have participated in exchange programs and short visits. PSU also had the honor of awarding an Honorary Doctorate in Education to MU Chancellor Prof. Dr. Brady J. Deaton.
