On March 14, 2018, H.E. Mr. Gilles Garachon, French Ambassador to Thailand, has presented the famous "Palmes Académiques" medal to Prof. Dr. Chusak Limsakul, PSU President. The prestigious award signifies the French government’s recognition of Dr. Chusak as a key promoter of academic relations between Thailand and France; one who has used his extensive knowledge and experience in the field of electronic engineering, and collaborated with the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Toulouse, France, to create technological achievements of global significance.
Dr. Chusak said that he was honored by the prestigious recognition. After he graduated in France in 1985, he became Dean of PSU’s Faculty of Engineering, and in that capacity he encouraged the cooperation between Thailand and France throughout, especially in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering. New lecturers were sent to study in France with the help of the French Embassy in Thailand to bring knowledge back to the university. In addition, as Vice President and President he supported conferences for researchers from both countries, particularly from the Rubber Research Institute (IRD) and CIRAD (in France), to establish cooperation regarding an international Master's degree program in rubber technology between Prince of Songkla University, Kasetsart University and CIRAD. At closing, Dr. Chusak expressed his delight in having been able to encourage and strengthen relations and friendship between Thailand and France.
