We will ensure a quality of undergraduate and graduate education, which will allow our graduates in their turn to assume leadership positions in the society and the region. These  provide us our long- term direction  and  with identity of being a regional leader, which will decide who we are, what we do and where we are headed.

Guided by the university's core values and principles, many faculties share common visions namely : a regional leader; a faculty teaching;   a faculty with expanding research;    and  a faculty  with information technology. Our faith in diversity,  however,   allows some faculties to envision different future including research based graduate studies, self-reliance, and internationalization.  These commonality and diversity are distilled into our corporate vision as follows.

Prince of Songkla University will be seen as a leading research based university, will assure a place in the first rank of major regional universities,   and,   in selected areas,    will eventually be the true leader of international standards.

          To integrate and apply knowledge based on practical experiences to teaching so that our students will be exposed to the real world and will be well equipped with global competence

Theme 1 : To build up our repertoire of knowledge based on local issues, which will be subsequently linked to the global network.

The university shall give emphasis to building new bodies of knowledge by means of thorough research into local and regional problem solving.    The research outcome will be applied to teaching, outreach,    and conservation of local arts and culture,  all of which will not only help theorize the new bodies of knowledge but eventually will expand their applicability to resolving the real problems of the world at large.

Theme 2 : To integrate and apply knowledge based on practical experiences to teaching so that our students will be exposed to the real world and will be equipped with global competence.

The university shall integrate from the beginning all kinds of knowledge, either from research, experience, and innovation or from external sources, into teaching and learning, which will in turn refurbish the integrated learning process and add value to our expected graduates in the form of
the following attributes.

           Curriculum specific intellectual capability and skills.
           Basic and integrated capability required for graduates such as critical and system thinking,
              problem solving, communicating, and recognizing ethical, personal, and societal reponsibility.
           Ability in reaching toward globalization with cognition, understandings, and integrated capability to communicate with global societies of all sorts.

Theme 3 : To be a university of the future, opening its doors and making itself more accessible to the people from all walks of life.

The mission shall respond to our aspiration to reach toward the regionally dependableuniversity for the future through the expansion of means, facilities, and services which will allow the general public to access, learn and gain from whatever forms and sources of knowledge we have in the university.
