Prince
of Songkla University aims at applying International Relations
system to support the university’s development of various
mission, for example, teaching, learning, research including
the faculty development. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boonsom Siribumrungsukha,
PSU President mentioned that PSU will follow the main concept
of “Policy centralization and mission decentralization”
to achieve the university’s goal. In general, the university’s
international relations are strong since the university
gives priority to international relations and we are closed
to the 3 neighboring countries, Malaysia, Indonesia and
Singapore. In addition, there is diversity in culture and
we can also link to those countries in the Middle East.
PSU has international programs for foreign students to enroll
and for student exchange programs. |
The
President also mentioned that International Relations system
need to be related to the university’s mission. The number
of staff exchange need to be increased. PSU need to pay
attention more to foreign staff’s welfare and career path.
To develop on teaching and learning system, PSU will develop
curriculum which encourage the study abroad program. The
students will have overseas experience in some semester.
To improve research, PSU will encourage academic staff to
conduct joint research with overseas universities and institutions,
and try to encourage both faculty members and students to
present papers overseas. Researchers’ network especially
with neighboring countries will also be encouraged.
